This interface allows you to query a range of 1 million word discipline-specific corpora developed within the framework of the Louvain English for Academic Purposes Dictionary (LEAD) project as well as the 15 million word academic component of the British National Corpus.

The box on the right allows you to select one or more academic disciplines. You can also be more selective and opt for specific scientific journals in a given discipline.

To query a selected corpus, type a word or expression in the “Simple search” function below. Use the “advanced search” if you want to search for lemmas, i.e. all the forms of a particular word (for ‘discuss’ : discusses, discussed, discussing), or lemmas and part-of-speech tags (e.g. all instances of forms of ‘issue’ used as a verb).
